BaZi chart

Yang Wood Jia, a towering trunk, sits on Xu Earth, the dry Dog branch that doubles as Fire storehouse and wealth treasury - fire resting in its own storehouse, says the San Ming Tong Hui.

Hidden inside are Wu Earth as Indirect Wealth, Xin Metal as Direct Officer, and Ding Fire as Hurting Officer: talent generates wealth, and wealth upholds office. Dry earth offers the trunk little moisture, so the chart still needs Water to grip deeply.

In short, rare talent and strategy are stored here; the task is channeling water to steady the base.

Western astrology chart

In symbolic imagery this pillar stands like a weathered pine on autumn ridges at sunset, defying frost with quiet dignity. Classical commentary attaches the Huagai, or Canopy, star to Xu Earth, lending a philosophical cast of mind, independence, and far-reaching strategic vision.

People formed here act decisively, joining worldly practicality with a streak of spiritual detachment, a blend the tradition reads as depth and natural authority. In plain terms, this is the bearing of a measured thinker whose judgment others instinctively trust.

I Ching casting

The classical reading hears an echo of Hexagram 35, Progress, and Hexagram 14, Possession in Great Measure, in this Fire-and-Earth dynamic - the law of advancing with the season and moving from hidden to visible.

Yang Wood Jia standing above the banked furnace of Xu Earth can radiate inner heat and bring work into the light, yet the same heat invites early exhaustion, so the counsel of the tradition is to ration strength and weave real rest into the working rhythm.

In essence, temper urgency with rest and your advance endures.

Career

The Hurting Officer's sharpness of mind fused with Indirect Wealth's commercial instinct fits this pillar for command roles, strategic planning, business operations, legal and technology work, and independent consulting.

Its gift is framing a broad vision and converting it into concrete structure through operational discipline. The classical reading holds that goals underpinned by realistic steps build lasting value and stable standing.

In plain words, make your mark by pairing far-sighted concepts with dependable follow-through.

Wealth

Sitting on a treasury of Indirect Wealth gives this pillar an intuitive feel for market openings, often aiming to open several streams of income.

Traditional teaching recommends building substance through well-considered enterprise and turning knowledge into value, and warns against greedy, fast ventures that could set Hurting Officer and Direct Officer at war.

Clear bookkeeping and conscious risk control guard the hidden reservoir against sudden swings. Plainly put, security here grows from planning and steady accumulation, not daring.

Love & relationships

In close relationships this pillar is loyal and protective, glad to shelter family and partner from the weather, yet its manner can turn domineering and crowd out easy dialogue.

The hidden Hurting Officer breeds unspoken criticism, while the Direct Officer's demand for propriety can set a quiet pressure of performance on a partner. Warmth grows best when protective care is rounded out with patient listening and visible tenderness.

In essence, trade control for understanding and the bond grows closer and lasts.

Health

Under traditional Chinese correspondence teaching, Wood standing on dry, Fire-warmed Earth calls for care of the liver qi, the sinews, and inner heat in the digestive tract.

Long spells of overthinking may stir restlessness, excited moods, or sleepless nights, with tension settling in the shoulders and neck. Ample water, gentle outdoor exercise among greenery, and calming evening routines are the tradition's trusted counterweights.

Plainly said, treat your reserves of energy with respect and the body keeps its vitality.

Personal growth

The road of maturation for this pillar runs through restraint of pride and the feeding of benevolence. Yang Wood Jia is by nature kind, yet wrapped in the utilitarian earth of Xu and the edge of the Hurting Officer it drifts toward quick returns and sharp ambition.

Returning to a plain, unadorned original intention, and giving others substantive help, roots the self ever deeper in wide ground. In plain words, your real progress shows in how much support you can offer others.

Compatibility

Among the Earthly Branches, Xu Earth pairs with Mao Wood in the Six Harmony (Secret Friend) combination and completes the Fire trine with Yin Wood and Wu Fire, sparking talent and appetite for action.

Meeting Chen Earth brings the Clash, You Metal the Harm, and Chou Earth or Wei Earth the punishment pattern, stirring disputes or internal friction. Company with gentle, equable natures who carry Water and Wood softens the inner parch.

In short, collaboration flows easiest beside calm, emotionally generous partners.

Fortune periods

When the Major Luck Cycle moves into lands where Water and Wood generate each other, the roots drink, the Wood qi unfurls, and ambition can unfold without rear worry - the classical reading sees name and attainment following.

Cycles of blazing Fire and parched Earth instead caution against overconsumption and tangled affairs, favoring a low, consolidating profile. Adjusting the pace of advance to the character of the season keeps the journey steady and far.

Plainly put, respect the rhythm of your cycles and you walk far without burning out.

Annual reading

In the Annual Year reading, a Chen Earth year Clashes the Xu treasury, often stirring home, work, and assets at once, so reorganizations deserve careful handling on both the demolition and the rebuild.

Years with Ren Water or Gui Water visible in the stems classically bring helpful people or gains in study and credentials. Adjusting your structure with the tide tends to open a fresh turn of fortune amid the shaking.

In essence, bend with the change and the shock becomes the doorway.

Name analysis

Traditional naming favors characters carrying clear, moist Water meaning or soft plant and Wood radicals, to dampen the dryness and feed the Wood so Yang Wood Jia receives constant nourishment.

Senses of calm, inclusive breadth rank highest, while overly fierce, blunt terms or characters with the ring of metal and battle are set aside. Such limpid, nourishing imagery adds a long, unbroken blessing to the chart.

In plain terms, a well-chosen name sets a gentle counterpoint to the inner heat.

Date selection

For auspicious days, priority goes to a Mao Wood day of the Six Harmony (Secret Friend) combination, or to Yin Wood and Wu Fire days of the trine, favoring generation, cooperation, and major advances.

Days when Chen Earth Clashes the storehouse, or when Chou Earth and Wei Earth activate the punishment, are best passed over. For founding a venture, settling a home, or key negotiations, a stable, well-omened date matters most.

Simply said, act with the grain of heaven and earth and the work meets less resistance.

Feng Shui

The dwelling does best when the living energies of East and North are strengthened: broad-leafed green plants inside, mild Water features to temper the dry Fire-and-Earth air.

The northwest sector of Xu Earth should be kept ordered, stable, and dignified, neither cluttered nor overlaid with fierce red. A room so balanced, clear in structure and fresh in accent, cools the restless mind and supports sound judgment.

In short, a gently moist, well-kept home furthers wise decisions and the peace of the household.

Classical commentary

Sanming TonghuiVol. 1, On the Nature and Fortune of the Sixty Jiazi (verdicts & remarks)

Jia Xu Fire is the resting place of Fire, favoring spring and summer. Associated with Proper Seal, Canopy, Flat Head, Suspended Needle, Broken Character, and Cudgel. Jia Xu is Fire of self-storage. It does not disfavor abundant waters, only dreading Ren Xu.

As the saying goes, 'being overcome within the tomb, its calamity is inescapable.' The Summary of the Five Elements says: 'Jia Xu Fire acts as both Seal and Storage, harboring the qi of extreme Yang concealed within.

Encountered in noble structures, wealth and honor expand gloriously. It only dreads repeated birth, guarding against misfortune lurking within good fortune.' Yi Hai is Hidden Bright Fire.

Its qi is smothered and unexpressed; it relies on Ji Hai, Xin Mao, Ji Si, and Ren Wu to burst forth, and when Wood born of Wei generates it, spirit and vigor flourish. Having the Water of Gui Hai or Bing Wu is inauspicious.
