Six in the Fourth Place is in Peace past its middle; being a yin above, its will is set on returning below. The two yin lines above also set their wills on rushing downward. 'Fluttering' depicts swift flight.
Six in the Fourth Place flutters downward together with its neighbors; 'neighbors' means its kind, referring to the fifth and the top. When men are wealthy and their fellows follow them, it is for profit; when they follow without wealth, it is because their wills are united.
The three yin lines are all things of the lower realms; dwelling above, they have lost their true reality. Their wills all desire to descend, and so without wealth they follow one another, their sincere intent harmonizing without waiting for warnings.
The ascending and descending of yin and yang represent the standstill and peace of seasonal fortunes; gathering and dispersing are the constant principle. Once Peace has passed its middle, change is imminent.
At the third line, the sage still spoke of hardship and correctness bringing blessing, because the third is approaching the middle and by knowing caution one can preserve it; the fourth has already passed the middle, and principle dictates that change must occur.
Hence it speaks exclusively of the way of beginning and end, departure and return. At the fifth, being the ruler of Peace, it returns to speaking of the meaning of dwelling in Peace.
