Choosing talent and employing it, though resting with the superior, dedicating oneself to the state must originate from oneself. Advancing only after finding an accord in principle with the ruler allows one to attain correctness and good fortune.
Responding to the superior's call through centrality and correctness means originating from within and not losing oneself. Restlessly scrambling to seek alliance is not the way of self-respect for a noble person; it is losing oneself.
